    WESTERN ELECTRIC TELEPHONE
    202 D Mount Oval Base Telephone
    Up for auction this original Western Electric  202 Oval Base Base  Mount telephone from the 1930's and 40's. This has been totally refurbished and rewired to work right out of the box.  The  body, plunger, fingerwheel and number card holder have been professionally powdercoated a gleaming black. It has a Very nice "F" style handset that has been buffed and polished to a sheen. It has a new brown cloth handset cord, and a brand new 6 ft back modular cord from phone to plug into the wall.  It has a very nice No. 6 dial cleaned and adjusted to Western Electric Specs.  Numbers and letters are crisp and clear. There is some scratching onn the ABC as shown. We have applied a new felt bottom to this phone. These were originally made to work with a separate ringer box. This has been bypassed and will NOT ring. Of course, you can answer when another phone in your house rings.  This phone will work on any STANDARD landline. Certain newer modems or other VOIP phones systems will require a "Pulse to Tone converter" to dial out. These are readily available online, otherwise, it's an answer only telephone.
