    Description

Western Electric model 202 telephone made between 1921 and 1927, also known as the D1 model.  This one has been modified to work on a POTS line, and has a rubber handset cord instead of the cloth one, meaning this was probably done in 1955 when these phones got reissued.  Be advised these phones did not have internal ringers, that came later.
This is an original and still has the leather base.  There have been no modifications to this beyond the addition of a modular plug that I know of, but I never took it apart.
Dial turns freely and works .  They are a frozen on a lot of these old phones.
