    Description

    This is an
    ORIGINAL
    STROMBERG CARLSON
    TELEPHONE OAKWOOD
    DOUBLE BOX
    VINTAGE WALL TELEPHONE WITH
    DISTINCTIVE EARPIECE
by STROMBERG CARLSON with June 12, 1894 Patent Date. Serial Number A118554.  Please see photos.
The electronics appear to be complete - Bells do not ring with a crank. Magneto turns so it may be an internal connection as electricity is being generated (I was shocked), however,
the bells NOT ringing is a sign that the wiring is original, the switching on the magneto switches the bells ' out ' of circuit when cranking the magneto
    .
Patent Date for Microphone is Sep 10, 1895, Sep 8, 1898
. This phone was probably used between 1899 - 1910.  The oakwood is in excellent condition given its age - all corners dove-tailed. There are four electrical terminals on the top of the top box.
    This is
as close to a complete telephone
of its type that you can get! However, it does not have any wet cell batteries.
It also has a working hand crank magneto that generates current. It measures 32" long x 13" wide x 12" deep.
It is quite heavy at 35 pounds
, hence the higher shipping & handling cost.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions as I want whomever purchases this phone to be totally satisfied.
