Vintage Phone with Modified Front Plate

Description

Vintage oak phone box and receiver with a modified front plate for display.  Beautiful golden oak color.
The front plate has "125 MCH" cut into it and a piece of red and white fabric stapled to the back.  I am not sure if this was the design of the original phone or whether it was added later.  Either way, it looks very well done and the numbers and letters have an art deco look to me.
The phone does not function as is and I am not sure if all components are present to restore.  The receiver is not connected and I can not confirm that it was originally matched to this phone (I looked inside and I can't see a way to connect it).  The box has 5809M stamped on the back.
The box measures 9 3/8 by

3 3/4 inches.  The receiver is 9 inches.
