    Description

    You are bidding on
    an Antique 1902 Original Swedish American 2-Box Telephone.
    The Phone appears to be Original, the Switchhook, Magneto/Generator/ (Pix 9), Receiver (Pix 12), and Transmitter (Pix 2) are all Marked and the Original Installers Test Card (Pix 11) Dated 12-15-03 is attached on the back.
    The Ringer is Marked with a Patent Date of April 16, 02 and appears to be Original, but is not marked Swedish American. The Carbons (Lightning Arrester) at the top of the Phone are also not Marked, but appear to be Original.
    I’m sure the Receiver Cord has been replaced at some time as it is too good to be from 1902-03. It is in Very Good++ Condition.
    The Transmitter Cup is missing but Replacements are available on EBAY. I will leave it to the Buyer to decide between buying an Original or a Reproduction. It is also Missing one of the Tiny Screws on the Door Lock Cover.
    Two Wood 1 x 2’s and a Cable for Hanging the Phone have been added using the normal mounting holes and can be removed without any damage to the Phone.
    The Phone is in overall Good Condition but the Wood Finish, (Shellac or Varnish) is crackled in several areas, the Battery Box has a Vertical Crack (Pix 3), and the Nickle on the Bells, Transmitter, Ringer Crank, and Carbons need to be Polished. I am Confident it has never been refinished, as it still has the Swedish American Label (Pix 6 ). I would Refinish it if I were still able to do it, but I know some Collectors prefer to keep it Original.
    The Phone is available for Pickup Only, But I will deliver it to a UPS Store near my Home if the Buyer makes the Arrangements for Shipping. I’ve done this several times in the Past with No Problems. Let me know and I will give you the Contact Info for the Store.
