    Patriotic Civil War Token
    Fuld  140/394a (copper)     R-2     Choice UNC RB          Also catalogued by Dewitt as political token GMcC 1864-32
    This token was distributed by New York City token maker Emil Sigel.  It served as emergency coinage along with other Civil War tokens and it also provided political advertising for George McClellan's run for President in 1864.  This is a choice uncirculated specimen that combines light attractive toning with much of the original red color.  It possesses excellent eye appeal.  This token was acquired from the Tanenbaum collection.  Unlike all other examples of this token that I have seen, it was struck with the dies in coin alignment rather than medal alignment.
