One of the most Decorative Oak Wall Crank Phones Possible  -  It is of the 1890s – 1909 quality craftsmanship as found on most L.M. Ericsson wall phones of the era. Not small, unusual because it is oak; most were walnut. Another unusual aspect is its manufacture, it was probably made in a Ericsson factory in some (?) European country (Turkey, Greece, Arabia, Russia?) I mention Russia because of some of the letters not being letters that we see in the English language. This phone was probably used up until after WWII since they put a rotary dial on it; but there's no line cord on it to plug it in. This style is attractive to may of it's with the sizable numbers of scallops. The crown often is absent, but this one is present, but the very tip had been broken off (about 3/8 or ½”). Letters in an 1D are absent enough off the rigner cover this is is not encouraging to read. About half absent. On the wood-grained (imperfect) battery cover under the shelf it says”*? M3PNKCOHBNKo*” a decal of 1892 Eiffel Tower which is nicely detailed, and at the left of this is QHETEPGYOTb”? Yes yes yes like LME had factories making phone stuff in may countries including Russia and the U.S. Knowing when helps date the telephone. Seeing that this phone was likely made in Russia makes it rare and early. Where else (Egypt) are there Qs that have a vertical line clear through the O? And where is there a b with a tail at the top and an L upside down? Not only is this a remarkable style, it is very seldom found anywhere.
