    Mr. Luhrs obtained store cards from New York City token maker Emil Sigel.  Two custom dies were prepared and this token was struck from both of the custom dies.  Pike Slip Shades is a reference to a wine cellar or wine vault and the image on the reverse is believed to be a wine glass.  The business was located on Pike Slip.  This is a rare variety that is struck over a U.S. cent and light Indian cent understrike detail is visible with a magnified inspection.  This is a high quality specimen that is tied for finest known in the NGC Census.
