    Civil War Store Card for the Great Fair in the Aid of the U.S. Sanitary Commission held in Nantucket, Massachusetts

    Dr. F.S. Edwards obtained this store card from F.C. Key & Sons in Philadelphia.  The token states "God loveth a cheerful giver."  These store cards were created in order to be sold at the Nantucket Sanitary Fair.  The funds raised at this and similar fairs were used to support wounded and returning troops.
