    Civil War Store Card for William Smith, Grocer in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania
    Fuld  PA535A-3a (copper)     R-8     NGC  AU-55 BN          Very rare variety from a single merchant town
    Mr. Smith obtained store card tokens from the Lanphear shop in Cincinnati.  A single obverse die was created and combined with five stock reverse dies for token production.  All but one of this merchant's tokens are found on copper planchets.  That single exception is a copper-nickel token.  This variety is very rare and the reverse die was only used to strike store cards for eight other merchants mostly in Ohio.
