Description
Civil War Store Card for Alexander Gleason, Die Sinker and Engraver in Hillsdale, MichiganFuld MI450G-7a (copper) R-2 NGC MS-64 BN Maker of "Michigan primitives" tokens
Alexander Gleason was one of the smaller token makers during the Civil War who distributed tokens to Michigan merchants. He created five dies that bear his name. Only one of the five named dies mentions his occupation as a die sinker and engraver. The other four dies were used as reverse dies for the tokens he sold to his Michigan merchant customers. This token combines one of the name only dies with one of his "not one cent" dies that was created to help him avoid legal problems with the Federal government. This is a very nice uncirculated specimen.
Shipping is free. Should this token fail to meet your expectations, it can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Sales tax, if applicable,
is collected by Ebay and submitted directly to state authorities.
