    Civil War Store Card for Foster & Metcalf, Metal Smiths in Grand Rapids, Michigan

    Wilder Foster and Martin Metcalf obtained store cards from an unidentified token maker.  Two similar obverse dies and a single reverse die were prepared and utilized to strike tokens for circulation on brass planchets.  This is the better brass variety and it is very scarce.
