    MATERIAL : Colored porcelain of Imari-yaki.
    IMARI-yaki is a general term of porcelain that has been produced in the Hizen area centered onthe current Saga Prefecture. It has a long history. Origin is a 17 century. And it is also famous as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain.

    This is the very good tone glaze with good painting pattern. KO-KUTANI is very precious work. All including the tone and painting pattern, etc are typical KO-KUTANI porcelain. It is never others. And such a design of painting is the traditional in KO-KUTANI. This is the serious, real old and high-class Japanese porcelain plate.

    About KO-IMARI (real old Imari).
    Typically, Imari over the middle of the 18th century is KO-IMARI. It has an unique atmosphere and work that is not in general Imari. And it is precious because it is very rare.
    About KO-KUTANI.
    KO-KUTANI is the coloring porcelain of oldest IMARI. It is around 1670 that the technique was established. This painting is influence of the style "GO-SAI (five colors)" of Chinese ancient times. Moreover, it is defined as there having been porcelain in the first half of the Edo period also in KUTANI of Ishikawa Prefecture. It had argued about the porcelain of this style for a long time. Recently, the same fragment was excavated from the former site of the old kiln of IMARI. The color plate of this oldest IMARI is called a KO-KUTANI-"style" for convenience now.
