    Description

    Mixed lot of Civil War era U.S.A. Fractional Currency including two 25 cent pieces (one earlier with five period 5 cent stamps shown and the other with George Washington and a red treasury seal), a 50 cent piece from early war, a 10 cent piece with the rarer Green treasury seal, and finally a 3 cent piece. Also included are 3 Military Payment Certificates, all 5 cent pieces with 2 from the 481 Series and 1 from the 472 Series.
    Condition on the set is visibly rough for most. Pinholes, soiling, heavy creases, tears, discoloration are present for the majority of these notes. There is a sizable chunk missing from the corner of the 50 cent piece, a corner missing on the 10 cent piece,  as well as some tears and missing paper on the 3 cent piece. Of the MPCs, 2 look to be in VF condition with solid appearance and no major damage. The third, one of the series 481 5 cent pieces shows some more signs of wear.
    Also included is a cool Motor Vehicle federal use tax stamp.
