Description
We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure a piece of antique telephone equipment. It is a ringer box that was used in conjunction with the old candlestick telephones circa 1900’s. The telephone ringer box is made out of oak wood and has nickel plated over brass ringer bells. At the front top it has a brass hook that would go over a hook or small nail to hold the top down. This nail or eyelet is missing. It appears that possibly a long time ago the bottom part has been replaced with a 1/4” thick piece of plywood. One end has all the old time brass knobs where one would possibly attach some wires to hook to the candlestick telephone. On the underside of the lid there is an apparatus that is stamped with the number 1600. On the main body it measures 6” long by 5” wide and is 4 3/8” high not counting the bell height. Cosmetically the ringer box is in good condition. Good to have if you have an old time candlestick telephone and no ringer box. We are listing this antique telephone ringer box at a no reserve selling price. So, thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
