    Description

    Medal (Token), 1863, Cu, WILSON'S MEDAL, Patriotic Civil War Token, Fuld F-112/396A, NGC MS64BN, Cert# 548442-058.
    Obv. Washington's bust surrounded by stars and dated 1863. The reverse contains a wreath and reads “Wilson's 1 Medal.”
    The slogan "Wilson's Medal" is thought to refer to one James G. Wilson, a contemprary engraver who perhaps worked in conjunction with diesinker Charles D. Horter at the time.
    This specimen is blessed with red and blue incandescent colors under light at angles, despite the BN designation. Attractive.
