Designed and engineered by the Bell System and manufactured by their Western Electric Division this telephone is one of the very early dial desk models.
In the early days multiple line telephones were not yet developed. Locations requiring more than one line were supplied with several telephones. Ringer boxes with a variety of bells producing distinctive sounds were installed allowing user to tell which phone to answer.  Some types: COW BELLS, LIBERTY BELLS, SLEIGH BELLS, "T" BELLS, WOOD BELLS, GLASS BELLS and several sizes of round bells.
The letters USNPS stamped into the wood on the ringer box stand for:  UNITED STATES NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE.  I have never seen one so marked.
The giant sleigh bells on this ringer box subset are extremely  rare and about 100 years old.  Their condition is excellent.
One bell is slightly larger making it ring at a different frequency producing a desired overtone.  Most two bell ringers have bells that are different. They often have one of the bells made with a thinner metal  Some have a thin slot on one side to change the frequency and tone.
The #2AA Western Electric dial makes distinctive clicking sounds when rotated. Serious collectors appreciate this type dial. They are very hard to find and quite expensive.
This set will be very interesting to your visitors and family as it is fun to demonstrate and explain its historical importance and rarity.
