    Description

1910? Northern Electric Co. Limited (Western Electric's Brother) Nickeled Transmitter Cup.  I started studying company cups like these in the 1970s and on into the early 1990s. The letters and numbers are stamped into the brass; the brass is nickel plated. The message stamped is not identical. Older age is detected in it’s message. Another variation has more in it including “Montreal”. There may be teeny weeny differences otherwise in these like the slot in the 1992 Western Electrics. (I don’t care). This specific cup says in big letters “NORTHERN ELECTRIC COMPANY LIMITED”. The nickel is not bad for being older than you are. I think Richard Montoya’s book “Phones of the Bell System” (or some such title) compare these.
